CHESHIRE MUSIC TRAIN

All aboard Folk Train

For an evening out with a difference, why not try the Cheshire Folk Train?

On Thursday 20th September, the lively Dr Butler’s Hatstand Medicine Band will be playing on the train to Goostrey.

The band will be performing on the 19:03 Northern Rail departure from Manchester Piccadilly to Crewe, calling at the following stations: Levenshulme 19:08, Heaton Chapel 19:11, Stockport 19:15, Cheadle Hulme 19:19, Handforth 19:23, Wimslow 19:26, Alderley Edge 19:29, Chelford 19:33, before arriving at Goostrey at 19:38.

The music will continue at the Red Lion Pub, Goostrey, which is a 5 minute walk away, before returning on the 22:14 departure back up to Manchester Piccadilly, which calls at all the stations mentioned above. There’s no need to book for this event – just buy a return ticket to Goostrey (if two of you are travelling together, you can save 25% off your fare with a Northern Rail duo ticket).

The Folk Train is organised by the Crewe-Manchester Community Rail Partnership, which aims to promote usage of the Crewe-Manchester via Stockport and Airport rail lines, and improve the services and facilities along them. It is funded by Cheshire County Council, GMPTE, Manchester Airport, Northern Rail and Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, and also has representatives from other local authorities, major employers and passenger groups.
